Good Times

I can't believe that this is the first blog for the year. I really need to start getting on here more. So I am on spring break this week and we decided to go see family yesterday (Monday). My cousins are here from Africa and are leaving later this week. We decided to stop by and see them and their new daughter Maisy. Eliza loves her and would speak of nothing else the whole trip there. You can see by the pictures how much she really loves her. But I don't think that she wants a sister of her own though, I'm not sure.........Watch the video to find out.

Christmas Time is Here!!!!!

I can't believe that it has been June since our last post. So much has happened since then as you can imagine. We have been to church camp, lots of things going on with AVEC, fall semester has come and gone and now Christmas is just around the corner.
We have been doing some fun things the last couple of weeks. We put up our Christmas tree, Eliza and I rode on a camel, Eliza rode on a donkey, and Kelli and Eliza made gingerbread men. They were delicious.
I told people that riding a camel has been on my bucket list for a while now. People always laugh when I tell them that. They say "you're too young to have a bucket list!", but I say; how old do you have to be to have a bucket list? I'm just getting a head start I guess. Any who, we want to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas.

Still lots going on!

Since I last wrote you, we have been to GA, remodeled a bathroom, done two car repairs, and I have been voted in as a probationary member of AVEC. I misspelled it in my last post and I'm sorry for any confusion. AVEC stands for Alton Volunteer Emergency Corps. A search and rescue organization.
Our last trip, before this one, Eliza couldn't even walk by herself yet. This time she was able to walk, talk and feed herself. We were even able to let her swim in the pool at our hotel, and she got to ride in a canoe with her grandpa Portwood. The trip down was really rough on all of us, but the trip back went really smoothly.
We have a functional basement bathroom now thanks to Willard. We had to put a grinder pump under the toilet, and we had to move the back wall forward. So now our little bathroom is even smaller, but at least it works.
Our next task is to get rid of the drop ceiling in the basement and replace it with dry wall (like it should have been in the first place). Oh well, it never ends.
P.S the top picture is Eliza in my suitcase telling me she's ready to go down to GA.

Lots going on!

It has been a while since I have posted anything on here. I have been really busy with clinicals, school, house, church, family, missions committee, officer (church) training, and now, I am going to be taking on something new and exciting. I am joining HVAC, which is a search and rescue group. There are meetings every other Wednesday night. For those of you who have been following the news, you may have heard about the three year old boy who decided to go on a hike and was gone for almost three days. HVAC was the group of people out looking for him. I am excited to be joining this group.
I have also decide to become a community leader for GMO. I am now going through training for that, and in a couple weeks, I should be a certified community leader. My hope is to have only people from our church in our online community.
I am also getting ready for finals. I have three finals this week, and then one next week. And instead of studying for any of them, I decided it's time for another video. It has been a while since I have made one. Enjoy.

Missions Conference!

A couple of weeks ago, my church had its annual missions conference. We had missionaries from all over come and tell us what they are doing. We had people from London ministering to the muslims and people from the local area who minister to women who have unexpected pregnancies. My favorite was the guy who came and talked to us about spreading the Gospel to the world through the internet. I was also able to talk to people about what it meant to be an online missionary.
Since then, two people from our Church have signed up to become online missionaries as well, and one other person has shown interest. I would like to get at least 5 more people from church to become online missionaries, and then I would like to become a community leader, and have our church have its own community. That is my hope and my prayer. If I can do it, anyone can do it.

Long time no post

Hello all. I realize it has been about two months since I have posted a blog on here. So much has happened since our last post. We had Eliza's second Christmas, as well as her second birthday. Christmas was fun. Eliza actually seemed interested in opening presents. Her birthday was a little different. It was hard to keep her on task. As you can see by this picture, I have decided that it is time to educate her in the more finer things of life, such as Calvin and Hobbes. I will try to be better about posting blogs in the future. I realize that every other blog says the same thing, but I will make sure that it isn't two months between blogs.

Extreme Makeover!

I just realized how long it has been since I have posted anything on here. I have been really busy with finals, cleaning the house for the In-Laws, Christmas shopping and the like. My sister gave me her Xbox 360 elite, which is a gaming console for those of you who don't know. The other day, I was playing it, not paying attention to Eliza. Apparently neither was Kelli. Kelli gives Eliza something to play with whenever she puts on her makeup. Well this particular day, she gave her a tube of mascara to play with not knowing that Eliza knew how to unscrew it. She went into the media room, and was quiet for about 5-10 minutes. For those of you who know Eliza best, you know that that is too long. Kelli went to find her, and Eliza just smiled at us, proud as could be that she had made herself look beautiful. Kelli then took her to the mirror so she could see what she had done. She looked horrified. That was the funniest part. Here she thought she had made herself look so good only to find out that she had made a mess.
